The municipality of Talant in Côte-d'Or, France, has placed concrete blocks and stones weighing up to 1.5 tons at access points to prevent caravans from occupying sports fields again. In May 2026, around a hundred caravans from Loiret camped on the football and rugby pitches for three weeks, prompting the town to spend €10,000 on barriers and another €10,000 on water and electricity. Mayor Adrien Guené criticized the state for not handling the situation, though he noted the stay passed without major incidents.
