On August 23, 2026, shortly before 4 p.m., a camper parked near the Aqualand water park in Port-Leucate (Aude) caught fire for an undetermined reason. The vehicle was completely destroyed, and the flames spread to a wooden fence, damaging a slide and an attraction. One person was slightly injured by the explosion of a small gas cylinder and taken to Perpignan hospital. Over 200 visitors were evacuated; the park reopened in the late afternoon, but the affected attractions remained closed.
