In 2026, the Ford Nugget celebrates its 40th anniversary. Based on the Ford Transit and converted by German specialist Westfalia in 1986, the model receives a limited retro edition. The anniversary version features black-and-white stripes, a yacht-style wooden floor, and exclusive badges. The Nugget evolved through several generations: in 2000 the kitchen moved to the center, in 2013 driving dynamics improved, in 2021 Active and Trail variants appeared, and in 2023 all-wheel drive and hybrid powertrain were introduced.

Suisse Caravan Salon showcases new motorhomes and expedition vehicles

The Suisse Caravan Salon in Bern featured two Swiss premieres: the Volkswagen Grand California and the Ford Nugget, both with fixed high roofs. The event also displayed the luxury Morelo Grand Empire motorhome with a compact car garage and Bliss Mobil expedition vehicles on Unimog and Mercedes-Benz Arocs chassis. Despite a sales decline, interest in caravanning remains strong.

German tuner unveils Ford Nugget camper van with all-wheel drive and sleek high roof

German conversion specialist Nugget Schmiede has introduced a modified Ford Nugget camper van featuring all-wheel drive and a new aerodynamically swept high roof. The High Roof Twin model is powered by a 168-hp 2.0-liter diesel engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission, priced from €95,980. The company developed this version because Ford's factory Nugget High Roof is not yet available with all-wheel drive.

Ford Nugget turns 40: limited anniversary edition with retro design

Ford has unveiled a limited edition of the Nugget camper to mark its 40th anniversary. The retro-styled version, based on the Active L2 trim with a 170-hp diesel engine, will debut at the CMT show in Stuttgart and go on sale in spring 2026 starting at €89,646.
