Low fuel consumption when towing a caravan

Clever Vans has introduced the Duo 540, a 5.4-meter-long campervan designed exclusively for two people. The model features an unconventional layout with a combined seating and bed area at the rear, a base price starting at €47,999, and a compact 60-liter freshwater tank.

According to an ADAC analysis, Thuringia is the cheapest federal state in Germany for camping. The average cost per night for a family of three in the high season of 2026 is 34 euros, with prices in the region increasing by only 1%, well below the national average increase of 7%.

Motorhome manufacturer Frankia is discontinuing two model lines — F-Line and Titan — with a special Final Edition series based on the Fiat Ducato chassis. The series includes three models ranging from 6.4 to 7.9 meters in length, featuring enhanced standard equipment such as lithium batteries, solar panels, and an Alde heating system. Prices start at 139,990 euros, which the manufacturer claims is 7,000–14,000 euros cheaper than ordering the options separately.

A caravan was stolen from a secured parking site in Haltern and moved to the Netherlands. Police apprehended two suspects in Eindhoven after the owner, using a GPS tracker, reported the trailer's location. The vehicle has not yet been returned to the owner.

Caravan manufacturer Hobby has dismissed CEO Bernd Löher with immediate effect. The company's management in Fockbek stated it made this decision and is now seeking a successor.

Duisburg police are organizing a free weighing event for motorhomes and caravans on March 23, 2026. The initiative aims to detect overload and is conducted in cooperation with DEKRA and Verkehrswacht. Owners can also receive safety consultations, including advice on theft protection and tire checks.
