Summit Vans unveils off-road camper After Dark based on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

Australian company Summit Vans has unveiled the off-road camper After Dark, built on a four-wheel-drive Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. The model features a reinforced suspension with Bilstein B60 Summit shock absorbers, increasing the gross weight from 4.1 to 4.4 tons. Inside, it includes a workspace with Starlink router, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom, powered by an 820 Ah lithium-ion battery. Price is undisclosed, but similar models start at $150,000.

Panama P09: camper van based on Ford Custom from €52,900

Spanish manufacturer Panama has introduced the P09 camper van built on the Ford Custom platform. The 5-meter-long model features a rear bench that converts into a double bed and an additional sleeping area in the pop-up roof, accommodating up to four people. The base price is €52,900, which is €30,000 less than a comparably equipped Volkswagen California. Standard equipment includes the Ford SYNC infotainment system with a 13-inch screen, with optional auxiliary heater, upgraded battery, awning, and tow bar.

Knaus unveils compact motorhome Van TI 550 MF

German manufacturer Knaus has launched the Van TI 550 MF, a 5.99 m long and 2.20 m wide motorhome built on a Fiat Ducato chassis with a 140 hp engine. It offers four travel seats and two berths, a 2 m French bed, a longitudinal bathroom with shower, a two-burner kitchen, and a 98 L fridge. Payload is 466 kg, fresh and grey water tanks hold 95 L each. The FoldXpand system extends the sleeping area without increasing overall length; interior trim uses Matara Teak.

Motorhome demand in Castellón rises due to international context

The province of Castellón (Spain) sees increased demand for motorhomes for summer travel, driven by uncertainty over airfare and fuel costs. Sales peaked at 65 units in 2024 and reached 61 in 2025. Weekly camper rental in high season costs €1,000–1,300, with prices unchanged since 2024. Spain has 372,500 caravanning vehicles, including 100,000 motorhomes.

Bürstner to launch Signature profile models on Mercedes chassis

Bürstner has announced the upcoming release of its Signature series motorhomes on the Mercedes Sprinter platform. Previously, the model was only available on the Fiat Ducato AL-KO. The manufacturer released a teaser video on Facebook showing a partially concealed vehicle. The new models are expected to debut at the Düsseldorf trade fair from August 28 to September 6. Two versions are anticipated: one with a central bed and one with twin beds. The price is likely to exceed €100,000.

The average price of a new motorhome in Spain does not fall below €70,000. The main buyers are seniors with medium to high purchasing power who value nature and sustainability. German manufacturer Westfalia, known for converting Volkswagen Combis since 1952, has unveiled the new Nansen model. The camper van is built on a Fiat Ducato chassis and will be produced in France, at the Niort plant (Rapido group). Two versions are available: the 600 L (5.99 m, family-oriented) and the 640 LS (6.46 m, for couples). Prices start at €70,500. Standard equipment includes a full bathroom, 95 L fresh water tank, and 90 L fridge. Options include additional batteries, an awning, and 160 W solar panels. Sales begin in January.

Rossmönster unveils two extreme off-road motorhomes: Baja Plus and Trail 72

Rossmönster has expanded its Baja lineup with two off-road motorhomes. The Baja Plus, built on a Ford F-550 or Ram 5500 chassis, prioritizes space and self-sufficiency with a pop-up roof, up to 257 liters of fresh water, and a 1,620 Ah LFP battery. The Baja Trail 72, based on a Ford F-350, is a more compact variant with a Carli Pintop suspension and 37-inch tires, designed for high-speed off-road use.

JP Star Happy1 micro motorhome under 4 meters long

Japanese company JP Star has introduced the Happy1 motorhome based on the Daihatsu Hijet. The vehicle is 3.78 meters long, 1.7 meters wide, and about 2.5 meters high. It includes a kitchen with sink, refrigerator, microwave, heating, and air conditioning. There are four berths: a main bed from a convertible dinette and an additional bed above the cab. No toilet or shower is installed; a portable chemical toilet and external shower are used. Prices in Japan range from €20,000 to €30,000 depending on trim.

Polydrops unveils off-road family camper P21 with solar panels

Polydrops has introduced the off-road travel trailer P21, designed for autonomous family trips of up to four people. The model features a fully electric architecture, integrated solar panels, and a battery system. The trailer is about 6.4 meters long with a dry weight ranging from 816 to 907 kg. The base version includes a 5 kWh battery and solar panels up to 920 W, with optional upgrades to a 10 kWh battery and 1300 W solar system. Pricing starts at $38,900, and series production has already begun.

Benimar Yrteo 2026: Motorhome width of a camper van

Spanish manufacturer Benimar has introduced the Yrteo 2026 range, combining the spaciousness of a motorhome with the maneuverability of a camper van. The models are 2.14 m wide, 18 cm narrower than standard motorhomes, and built on a Ford Transit chassis. Two versions are available: Yrteo 840 (5.99 m) and Yrteo 861 (6.69 m), both with 2.0 EcoBlue diesel engines (130 or 165 hp) and an optional 8-speed automatic transmission. Prices start at €60,000, roughly €25,000 less than a Volkswagen California.

German motorhome brand Rhön Camper enters French market

German off-road motorhome and camper van manufacturer Rhön Camper will begin sales in France through dealer Rolling Home in Ancenis from October 2026. Founded in 2019, the company showcased its compact New Ultimate van at the Stuttgart show, featuring a unique pop-up roof combining elements of a classic roof tent and a hardtop. The lineup includes eight models based on the Mercedes Sprinter, including all-wheel-drive versions, as well as Renegade and Rebel modules. Prices in Germany start at €74,990 for the van and reach €202,990 for the module.
