Sealander caravan turns into a boat

Caravan Salon Düsseldorf 2026 will take place from August 28 to September 6 at Messe Düsseldorf. More than 800 exhibitors will be spread across 15 halls and the outdoor area, covering about 250,000 square meters. A weekday ticket costs 18 euros, weekend tickets 20 euros, and parking is 10 euros per day. For the first time, Hall 7a will be dedicated to roof tents, and the off-road section will be expanded in Halls 16 and 17. The trade fair ticket no longer includes public transport in Düsseldorf.

The Stellplatz-Radar app has identified the 10 most sought-after motorhome parking spots for August. The ranking is based on frequency of views, saves, and recent user ratings. The list includes locations from the Baltic Sea coast to the Alps, including sites in Bremen, Scharbeutz, Chiemsee, and Mittenwald.

German manufacturer ARI Motors has introduced the electric camper ARI 458 Pro Camper, measuring 3.82 meters in length and 1.49 meters in width. The base version costs 25,530 euros, with a range of up to 230 km (23.5 kWh battery), and a 15 kWh battery option offering 120–180 km. The model is powered by a 15 kW (about 20 hp) electric motor, with a top speed limited to 70 km/h. Standard equipment includes a 230V outlet, auxiliary battery, solar panels, and a water system. Energy costs are estimated at 4 euros per 100 km.

Ahorn Camp has unveiled the CV 630 Eclipse Edition, a special series based on the Renault Master. The model features Pearl Black paint, 16-inch black alloy wheels developed exclusively for Ahorn, and a matte black awning. The base price is 55,900 euros, with the Eclipse package adding 3,490 euros, totaling 59,390 euros. First deliveries are expected in August, with the world premiere at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. Production is limited.

The 'Am Hoschenhof' campsite on the border between Neukirchen-Vluyn and Rheurdt, in operation for about 60 years, is to be closed. The reason is a lack of compliance with fire safety regulations and the high cost of necessary investments, which operator Horst Albertus Konijnenberg says exceed both his financial means and those of most campers. Permanent residence on campsites with primary registration is illegal, although tolerated by authorities and politicians. Residents, including Petra Holste and Nicole Bohra, who have invested heavily in their properties, now face the challenge of finding new housing amid a housing shortage. The municipalities of Neukirchen-Vluyn and Rheurdt have promised support within their limited means, but acknowledge the difficulty. The site must be vacated by December 2029.

German company Sealander has unveiled the world's first caravan that can float and move on water like a small boat. The 469 cm long and 166 cm wide model weighs only 750 kg, allowing it to be towed by a standard car without a special license. The fiberglass-reinforced plastic hull with double bottom is designed for calm waters with waves up to 30 cm and winds up to 4 Beaufort. Inside, there are two seats, a table, and a double bed (205×151 cm), plus options: stove, sink, sound system, solar panels, grill, chemical toilet, and shower. The base price is €39,750, excluding the outboard motor (recommended 5–10 hp), which is sold separately. Orders are open in Europe, with first deliveries expected this autumn.
