Dozens of caravans arrived on Wednesday morning at the free parking area in Valdespartera, set up by Zaragoza City Council for viewing the solar eclipse on August 12. According to the latest estimates from the city council, around 135 vehicles had made reservations. The parking area has 1,300 spaces and is intended for caravans, motorhomes, and certified campers. The site will be closed and guarded throughout the operating period.
The parking area is divided into 14 zones and will operate from August 10 to 13. Prior booking is required through the website zaragoza.es/zaragoza-eclipse. The site is intended only for overnight stays, not camping: cooking outdoors, taking out furniture, and making noise are prohibited. Authorities expect a large number of tourists wishing to witness the astronomical event.
According to city authorities, about fifty caravans, motorhomes, and campers have already settled on the site, and a total of 173 parking applications have been received. Many visitors are also taking the opportunity to explore the city.
