At the parking area near the Valdespartera exhibition center in Zaragoza, caravans of tourists from Germany, Italy and various parts of Spain are settling in to watch the total solar eclipse. Among the visitors are a couple from Munich, who chose Zaragoza as one of the best viewing spots, and a family from Naples, who noted that in Zaragoza the eclipse will be visible at 100%, unlike Barcelona (99.8%).
Frenchman Jean Pierre, arriving from the Pyrenees, plans to observe the eclipse with a telescope. He said: "It's not the first one I've seen, I hope it will be magnificent." At the motorhome site in Valdespartera, 135 of 1,300 spots have already been booked. It is expected that 57% of visitors will be foreigners, and hotels are almost fully booked.
