A new motorhome area with 22 spaces has opened in Giromagny (Territoire de Belfort). According to one source, it has been operating since July 1, 2026; according to another, since July 3, 2026. Located at 5 rue de la Gare, the site offers electricity, Wi-Fi, grey water disposal and waste collection; drinking water is also mentioned.
The area sits at the foot of the Ballon d'Alsace (1247 m), the highest point of the Southern Vosges, within the Ballon des Vosges regional natural park. It is expected to attract cycle tourists tackling the climb to the Ballon d'Alsace (16.5 km, 700 m elevation gain). One source says the area was opened ahead of the Tour de France passing on July 17, but is currently only partially filled. The mayor hopes to draw tourists and notes the area is already visible on Michelin maps.
