In Shima City, Mie Prefecture, the RV park "COZY FIELD Kokufu Shirahama" has opened, located a one-minute walk from the renowned surf spot "Kokufu Shirahama". Certified by the Japan RV Association, the park offers weekly parking, toilets, 100 V electricity, waste disposal, and swimming access. Nearby is Ako-no-Matsubara Beach (3 minutes by car), and on clear mornings Mount Fuji can be seen.
Lawson convenience stores have launched a car-sleeping service (shachuhaku) on their parking lots in Aichi Prefecture, as well as in Saitama and Shizuoka. The cost is 2500–3000 yen per night for a family. Users get access to toilets, electricity, and waste collection. During peak periods, occupancy exceeds 90%. Expansion to 70 locations is planned by 2026. Certification as an RV park requires nearby bathing facilities; in Okazaki, such facilities are about 10 minutes away by car.
