In Germany, the number of campervan sites has grown by two-thirds over the past ten years, to about 5,500. According to the German Caravan Trade Association, each campervan traveler spends about 50 euros per day in the community where they stay.
The article examines how profitable such sites are for the municipalities of Röttingen, Gerbrunn and Sommerhausen. Meanwhile, the authorities of Memmingen intend to increase the number of campervan parking spaces due to the high occupancy of the existing site at Neue Welt park. In 2025, a significant increase in the number of campervan travelers was recorded. In addition to the already planned site on Kolmarer Street, two more additional areas are being considered.
