The administration of Tsarevo has denied rumors about the construction of a camping site on Butamyata beach in Sinemorets. The area lies within Strandzha Nature Park and borders the Silistar protected zone. The municipality held a tender for the lease of plots for temporary placement of tents, campers and caravans for up to three years (May to September) in line with national regulations.
The winning bidder, company "PEPE.BG" (also "Pepe.bg"), stated it will not build permanent structures but only organize a camper zone with temporary infrastructure. According to sources, the lessee plans to accommodate 85 caravans, 20 campers and tents. The annual rent is 6700 euros for four municipal plots totaling nearly 35 decares on the first beach line.
The tender raised suspicions due to the participation of two linked candidates, one of whom was disqualified as an individual. The Burgas District Prosecutor's Office has initiated a review of the deal's legality.
