A tourism base with accommodation and dining is being prepared near Tsugaru-Nakasato Station on the Tsugaru Railway in Nakadomachi. Opening is targeted for the spring holidays next year. Ibuki Karata, a member of the town's regional revitalisation corps, is converting an empty house behind the station into a guesthouse, event space and restaurant serving local cuisine. The site will also include a campsite for overnight stays in vehicles, supervised by comedian Masunosuke Ono of the duo Adobaruun, who won the town's business plan contest last year. Karata said restaurants close by evening and the town has no place where visitors can stay and spend time.
