The Valencian government has opened a public consultation on a project to build a new tourist campsite for motorhomes and campers in La Marina, in the municipality of Elche. The initiative is promoted by Marina de la Plana SL and is planned on five plots in polygon 50, near the N-332 road and the border with San Fulgencio. The project covers about 30,000 square meters and will have 160 pitches for motorhomes and campers. Facilities will include a reception, two buildings with toilets and changing rooms, a specific area for emptying and filling tanks, internal roads, and more than 1,000 square meters of gardens and green areas. Access will use the existing entrances and exits of a service station and car wash on the plot. The land is classified as common non-developable land, so the project requires a Declaration of Community Interest (DIC).
