New German glamping park receives high praise from experts

Expert Dominic Vierneisel from Promobil magazine gave advice on cooling motorhomes in hot weather. Key measures include using external aluminum-coated thermal mats that reflect sunlight and roof vent fans for rapid air exchange. White body color reduces heat absorption, and an awning provides shade at the entrance. Running the air conditioner while away is discouraged due to noise and energy consumption.

The motorhome harbor on Johannisberg in Bielefeld is highly popular among tourists. Over 24 hours of observation, it was found that the site attracts travelers from various countries, including a couple from Herford who traveled a considerable distance.

According to Campstar booking data, seven out of ten most booked destinations for motorhome rentals in 2026 are cheaper than last year. In Germany, the average daily rate increased by only 1.4%, while in Australia it dropped by 3.3% (to €136) and in New Zealand by 6.3% (to €134). Iceland is the exception, with prices surging 45.4% (to €323 per day) due to demand outpacing supply. Renting a motorhome in Australia and New Zealand is now cheaper than in Italy (€152).
