In Brief

Two new RV parks have opened in Japan: in Niikappu (Hokkaido) and Miyahama (Hiroshima). Earlier, in November 2025, four more parks were added, bringing the national total to 589.

Japan continues to expand its network of RV parks. In late April 2026, the first park in the Hidaka region of Hokkaido, "RV Park Niikappu," opened next to the Hills Niikappu Onsen hotel. It offers 5 sites with electricity (100V 20A) at 3,000 yen per site. Guests CAN use the hotel's hot springs for an additional fee.

Almost simultaneously, on April 19, 2026, an RV park opened in the Miyahama hot spring area of Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. It is the first such facility in the area opposite Miyajima Island, home to the World Heritage site Itsukushima Shrine. Managed by a local association, the park provides four overnight spots.

Earlier, in November 2025, the Japan RV Association announced the opening of four more parks in Kyoto, Chiba, Ehime, and Mie prefectures. As of December 1, 2025, the total number of such parks nationwide reached 589.
