Astana has opened the first official motorhome campsite in Kazakhstan. Located in the Zhetysu park, the opening on April 25 coincided with a caravanners' rally. Despite approval from local authorities, police visited the rally several times to check parking compliance. The campsite is free for the first year, and only motorhomes are allowed; tents and barbecues are prohibited.
