Camping overnight stays in Saxony rose by 76.6% over ten years, reaching 1.1 million in 2024. However, camping accounts for only about 5% of all tourism overnight stays, and interest in the region as a camping destination is low: only 8% of surveyed campers consider it. Over half of the 124 campsites and 312 motorhome parking spots reported a need for investment in modernization, particularly in sanitary facilities and accessibility.
