Caravanning in Russia has become a mass phenomenon: the number of motorhome owners has grown to tens of thousands. Over three years, more than 150 new campsites have been built, and by 2030, 230 campsites with 9,000 places are planned.
The main demand is for trailers costing 1-3 million rubles. According to media reports, a week-long trip for a family from Moscow to Gelendzhik by motorhome costs about 70,000 rubles, saving about 50,000 on hotels.
Challenges include a lack of equipped campsites and ambiguous parking legislation.
