French retiree Michelle spends winter in Morocco in a motorhome

A French retiree named Michelle is spending the winter months in Morocco travelling by motorhome. She says housework in the motorhome is limited to cooking and sweeping, whereas at home she is constantly busy with laundry, gardening and phone calls. Thousands of French retirees winter in the Agadir and Souss-Massa region each year, staying for four to six months. The Atlantica Parc campsite near Agadir accommodates up to 1,000 motorhomes and more than 2,000 people on 14 hectares, with a rate of about €8 per night per vehicle. Tourist stays in Morocco are limited to 90 days; extensions can be requested from the General Directorate of National Security.
