On Monday, June 15, a convoy of about 60 caravans occupied a private plot in Gujan-Mestras, near the coastal path. Municipal services of Le Teich and Gujan-Mestras spent five hours trying to negotiate with representatives of the travelers, offering spaces on designated parking areas, but all alternatives were rejected. The mayors stated their intention to support the landowner, who filed a complaint, and to obtain a court eviction.
In a separate incident, in Roumare, nine caravans and twelve cars occupied private land near the Barentin commercial zone. According to the gendarmerie, they arrived on June 8 and will stay at least two weeks due to repairs to the travelers' parking area.
