Around 60 caravans have illegally set up on a private plot on the border between Gujan-Mestras and Le Teich, near the coastal path in Arcachon Bay. The mayors of both towns said they lack state support and intend to seek eviction through the courts.
In a separate incident in Morbier (Jura), 150 caravans of an evangelical traveller community occupied the Marais stadium. The town hall signed an agreement allowing the stay until 28 June in exchange for compensation. The community arrived from Savoy, numbers about 500 people, and plans to head to an evangelical gathering near Nancy.
