A mobile health unit from the National Health Equity Program (PNES) will be available today in Paternò on Via Roma 28/30 from 4 PM to 8 PM. The initiative, organized with the collaboration of Penelope, is funded by the European Union and the Italian Ministry of Health. The Catania health authority operates three such units to reach neighborhoods, places of worship, squares, and suburbs. The unit is staffed by a multidisciplinary team including doctors, nurses, social workers, and cultural mediators speaking Arabic, French, and English. Services include medical examinations, prescriptions, referrals to specialists, free medications (classes A and C), and dental check-ups. All services are free, even without documents or a health card.
