The growing popularity of motorhome holidays in Sweden has led to a shortage of pitches during peak season. In the first half of 2026, 3,527 new motorhomes were registered in Sweden, a 55% increase compared to the same period in 2025. A site owner in Kristinehamn says up to 50 motorhomes a day are turned away. Authorities remind that overnight stays are only allowed on designated pitches, not on natural land, and that standard parking rules apply on regular parking lots.
