Motorhome travelers share tips for coping with heat

Nissan Deutschland announced the new Relax camper based on the fully electric Interstar e van. The model will be presented at the Caravan Salon 2026 in Düsseldorf from August 28 to September 6. The four-seat camper features an 87 kWh battery, a WLTP range of up to 410 km, and a motor producing 105 kW (143 hp) and 300 Nm of torque. Prices start at 89,900 euros.

Since the end of May, the renovated motorhome parking lot on Klosterstraße in Fürstenfeldbruck has been open, operated by the French company Camping-Car-Park. During a visit, 14 of 22 spaces were occupied. Tourists from various countries, including Germany, Austria, and the USA, praised the location and infrastructure, highlighting the price of 16 euros per day and the availability of electricity, water, and sanitary facilities.

German studio SpaceCamper has released four special editions based on the VW Caravelle, developed from feedback from about 350 owners. The models debuted at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. The Classic+ Dog includes a dog zone with a ramp and ventilation, the Classic+ Bike allows bicycles to be carried inside, the Classic+ 6.Sitz adds a sixth seat, and the Classic+ Toilette keeps details secret due to patent issues.

At the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, Volkswagen presented two world premieres: the fully electric ID. California Cruise based on the ID. Buzz and an inflatable modular concept for the California Beach, developed with Stuff Bubble. The inflatable kitchen weighs under 10 kg, and the sleeping system accommodates four people. Modules can be installed and removed in minutes, allowing the vehicle to be used daily without permanent extra weight. The electric California lineup will expand through 2028.

Dirk de Rouck from Belgium has been vacationing at the Eversburg campsite in Warburg for 45 years. The family stays on the same pitch each year, which has been given a special name.

Volkswagen will present the ID. California Cruise electric camper concept at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, opening on August 28. Based on the ID. Buzz, the concept is not yet a production model. The company also developed with Stuff Bubble a detachable inflatable kitchen weighing under 10 kg and a flexible bed measuring about 200x134 cm for the California Beach. Battery, power, range, and pricing details remain undisclosed.
