In the first half of 2026, Austrian campsites recorded about 2.9 million overnight stays, 3.6% below last year's record level, according to the Austrian Camping Club (ÖCC) and Statistik Austria. May was particularly strong with 789,720 overnight stays, up 37.5% year-on-year, while April and June saw declines due to weather and holiday timing. Tyrol led the federal states with 916,920 overnight stays, followed by Carinthia (654,840) and Salzburg (309,040).
