Summer 2026 results
In July and August 2026, Austrian campsites recorded 4,668,232 overnight stays, up 8.09% compared to the same period last year. About three-quarters of guests (3,579,115 overnight stays) came from abroad.
Regional figures
- Carinthia — 1,574,895 overnight stays (first place)
- Tyrol — 1,249,151 (second place)
- Salzburg — 579,838 (+17.01%)
- Vorarlberg — 200,501 (+4.09%)
Upper Austria saw the largest increase (+39.14%). Declines were recorded in Burgenland (-1.49%) and Vienna (-15.62%).
Falkensteiner Camping Grubhof in St. Martin bei Lofer was the most visited on the camping.info platform in the 2026 season. A night of camping for two people with a caravan, electricity and local tax in Austria costs about 40 euros.
