Due to rising housing costs on Mallorca, some locals are forced to live in motorhomes. In the informal settlement near the Son Hugo pool in Palma, there are 111 motorhomes, with residents paying around 500 euros per month in rent, while apartment rentals cost at least 1,000 euros. City authorities are considering clearing the settlement, citing fire safety and sanitation violations.
