The X Yakart Camino de Santiago motorhome route is underway in Galicia, running from July 1 to 12. Participants are visiting several towns in the region. On Tuesday, 53 motorhomes stopped in Pontevedra, setting up a temporary camp on part of the exhibition center square. Mayor Miguel Anxo Fernández Lores visited the travelers, thanked them for choosing the city, and invited them to return.
The route started in Sabucedo, then headed to the Baiona campsite, where the mayor welcomed them. It will continue to San Vicente do Mar and conclude on Sunday in Santiago de Compostela. Organizers note the growing popularity of this type of tourism and call on authorities to develop infrastructure for motorhomes.
