Growing popularity of motorhomes in Spain
Spain is seeing a steady rise in interest in motorhomes. According to the motorhome owners' association, a new motorhome costs €70,000–80,000, while a used one ranges from €25,000 to €30,000. About 30% of owners in Spain use a motorhome as their permanent residence, and this share is expected to grow due to high rental costs.
Esteban Hinojal, president of the Madrid Motorhome Owners Association, has owned a motorhome since 2004 and has not stayed in a hotel since. He highlights the freedom and mobility it offers: "You don't know what it's like to be bored with your wife on a Friday and say, 'Let's go to Toledo.' You grab the food you've cooked, load it into the motorhome, and spend the weekend."
New business in Galicia
A couple of motorhome enthusiasts from Ribadeo and Viveiro, Antonio Rubio García and Cecilia Soría Lamas, turned their passion into a business by founding Amodiño VanLife. The company focuses on servicing motorhomes in the A Mariña and Western Galicia regions. The founders noted that the motorhome gave them freedom and freedom from worries, which inspired them to create the company.
