Kim Dae-ho goes car camping on Samcheok coast on 'I Live Alone'

On the September 11 episode of MBC's 'I Live Alone,' Kim Dae-ho showed the renovation of his camper, Damargini, which he has owned since 2020. The conversion cost 6 million won, including replacing mold-damaged seats and fitting a white-and-wood interior. He did not install an air conditioner, citing the extra expense.

The Sejong Facilities Management Corporation signed an agreement on 9 September with the Korea Leisure Vehicle Industry Association to hold the 2026 Goalbingrak Festival in Sejong from 23 to 25 October. The event will take place at Sejong Hangang Campground over two nights and three days. The parties will cooperate on planning, operations, facility support, promotion and safety. The festival is expected to attract campers from across the country and support local tourism and the regional economy.

The Cheongnyangsan Suwon Campground, established through cooperation between Suwon and Bonghwa County, North Gyeongsang Province, has recorded 10,832 cumulative visitors since opening on October 22 last year through August 31. Suwon residents accounted for 64% (6,942 visitors). The campground features 12 auto-camping sites, 18 accommodation units (six-person caravans, mini-caravans, glamping), and programs linked to local specialties, including apple craft activities. Reservations are accepted from the 1st to the 15th of each month via the Camping Talk app or website; half of the facilities are allocated by lottery to Suwon and Bonghwa residents. Suwon and Bonghwa residents, basic livelihood recipients, national merit holders, disabled people, and families with multiple children receive a 50% fee reduction.

Kia has announced plans to expand its conversion ecosystem for PBV electric vehicles. At its Hwaseong plant, the company provides workspace and equipment to external converters at its conversion center and publishes technical data for the PV5 and PV7 models on the conversions.kia.com portal. This allows small companies to develop specialized versions such as campers, school buses, and refrigerated vans without disassembling and measuring the vehicle.

Kim Hee-sook, 76, who prefers hotels to camping, joins her daughter, a camper with 20 years of experience, in a used cargo truck converted into a camper for 3.9 million won. The vehicle features a foldable table and a carpet that turns into a bed. They will camp in Gijang, Busan, and eat seafood and ramyeon.

The Cheongnyangsan Suwon camping site, located in Bonghwa County, North Gyeongsang Province, has attracted over 10,000 visitors in the 10 months since its opening. As of August 31, the cumulative number of visitors reached 10,832, with Suwon residents accounting for 64% (6,942). The site opened on October 22 last year, operated on a trial basis until November 30, was closed from December to March, and reopened on April 1. During the 40-day trial period, 2,660 people visited, and from April 1 to August 31, 8,172 people came. The facility includes 12 auto-camping sites, 6 six-person caravans, 5 mini-caravans, and 7 glamping zones, along with various amenities. Reservations are made through the Campingtalk app and website, with 50% of spots allocated to Suwon and Bonghwa residents. Discounts of 50% are available for eligible groups.
