Motorhomes built on commercial vehicle bases often lack Isofix child seat anchors, as the mandatory requirement introduced in 2014 applies only to passenger cars with more than one row of seats. Retrofitting is possible but requires a different belt frame and usually new seat upholstery. Retrofit kits cost between 75 and 180 euros, with installation raising the cost to 400 euros or more per seat. Replacing a seat or bench with an Isofix-equipped model costs from 600 to 1,000 euros for individual seats and 2,000 to 3,000 euros for a new bench.
