A couple has lived for four years in a converted van with an area of five square meters. Their weekly expenses are about 100 euros thanks to autonomous systems: a 200 Ah lithium battery and a 400 W solar panel. Initial investment in purchase and conversion was approximately 11,000 euros.
According to a Spanish source, they moved into the camper due to rising rental prices in Spain. They spent 8,000 euros on the van and 3,000 euros on conversion. They say they save on utility bills by using two butane cylinders a year and a diesel heating system.
