A family of three from Hokkaido took a three-day, two-night trip by camper van through Shakotan, Furubira and Yoichi during the Obon holiday. The itinerary included sea activities, visits to new roadside stations and meals at convenience stores. Overnight stays were at the Furubira Tarako Museum roadside station and Space Apple Yoichi. At the popular Family Sushi Garden House in Yoichi the wait was about an hour, and tours at the Nikka Yoichi Distillery require advance booking.
