A motorhomer has described a two-day trip to Shodoshima island in Kagawa Prefecture with a cat and a one-year-old son. The ferry from Takamatsu port to the island carries passengers with pets and vehicles, with a crossing time of about one hour. On the island the family climbed to the Kasanewa rock via a narrow road with steep curves and several hundred steps, taking 20 to 30 minutes from the car park to the summit. Overnight parking was at the free Olive Beach car park, where the child woke at midnight and mosquitoes entered the vehicle. In the morning the family had breakfast at dillydally, a cafe that opens at 8:00, and visited Angel Road and the Olive Park.
