German campsites set a record in 2025 with 44.7 million overnight stays, up 4.2% from 2024. The main driver is glamping, blending hotel comfort with outdoor stays. Expert Simone Pokrandt recommends three destinations: Alpencamping Nenzing in Austria, Caravan Park Sexten in South Tyrol, and Hvidbjerg Strand Resort in Denmark. Motorhome pitch prices have risen 32.2% since 2020.
