Season opening
On June 1, the G217 Duku Highway in Xinjiang opened, known as 'China's most beautiful road'. The route is 561 km long, connecting rivers, snowy mountains, forests, steppes and deserts. At the opening ceremony in Kucha, 400 RVs, motorcycles and SUVs started.
Traffic restrictions
Traffic is allowed from 8:00 to 19:00 for vehicles up to 7 seats and trucks up to 5 tons. On the Kuru-Narat section, the time may be extended to 21:00 depending on weather and traffic. After 19:00, entry to the Narat-Usu and Jolma-G217 sections is prohibited. Restrictions are due to the construction of G3033 and the Ili-Aksu railway.
The city authorities plan to improve tourist infrastructure.
