From July 7, 2025, new EU safety regulations will apply to all newly registered motorhomes. Eight driver assistance systems, including automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, and a rearview camera, will become mandatory for models up to 3.5 tons. Industry estimates suggest this will increase the price of new motorhomes by €1,000 to €3,000. Owners of self-built campervans registered after this date will also need to comply with the new standards.
