Motorhomes are stolen significantly more often than conventional cars. According to NDR, the clearance rate remains low because stolen vehicles are quickly taken abroad. To reduce risk, experts recommend choosing a parking spot that requires manoeuvring to exit, using mechanical locks (steering wheel and wheel clamps), hidden GPS trackers, electronic alarms and additional immobilisers. According to GDV, partial comprehensive insurance typically covers the damage, including built-in equipment, and separate contents insurance may be advisable.
