On the second day of a campervan journey, the author visited the Oritsume and Hashikami roadside stations and Kabushima in Hachinohe, collecting two Pokémon manhole covers to complete the Aomori set. At the Hasshoku Center and its Shichirinmura barbecue area, they grilled clams, oysters, shrimp, turban shells, smelt, squid, scallops and surf clams; seat fee was 500 yen for 2 hours and ingredients cost about 3,000 yen. The Nebuta House Wa-Rasse in Aomori displayed recently used festival floats and offered dance and drum workshops; a visit plus hands-on activities took about 50 minutes. Dinner at the ramen shop Kawara featured the local miso curry milk ramen. The night was spent at the Yokohama roadside station near the Shimokita Peninsula; admission to the Gokurakuyu bathhouse was 480 yen.
