Netherlands proposes way to cut motorhome costs after tax hike
Original source: Auto Review

Since January 1, 2026, the road tax rate for motorhomes in the Netherlands has doubled: instead of €240 per quarter, owners now pay €540. Switching to a compact camper van used as a daily vehicle is suggested as an alternative. Such a van is lighter, reducing tax by €100 per quarter, and eliminates separate storage costs if parked on private property. The second-hand market for vans up to 15 years old starts at €22,000.
