In Germany, fines start at €10–20 for minor overloads, while exceeding the limit by more than 20% results in a €100 fine and a penalty point. In Austria, any overload incurs a minimum fine of €85, and driving is prohibited if the overload exceeds 2%. In France, similar restrictions apply from a 5% threshold.
