The canton of Obwalden plans to ban unregulated overnight stays for motorhomes and caravans outside campsites. Instead, mini-sites on farms with an area of up to 150 square meters will be permitted, accommodating between two and five vehicles.

The Solar Butterfly caravan has returned to Horw (Canton of Lucerne) after a four-year world tour. A 2015 Land Rover Defender has been converted into a camper for two adults and a child. The interior features modular plywood furniture, including three sleeping berths, a fold-out table, an integrated refrigerator, and multiple storage drawers. The body was fully insulated to improve comfort.
