The Madrid association of technical inspection stations (Aema-ITV) has explained the new DGT Instruction PROT 2026/04, which resolves doubts about ITV frequency for different vehicle types. Motorhomes (category M) require first inspection at 4 years, then every 2 years until 10 years, then annually. Caravans over 750 kg need first inspection at 6 years, then every 2 years. Campervans (category N1) require inspections at 2, 4 and 6 years, then annually until 10 years, then every 6 months.
