Since 18 September, Larraitz park at the foot of Mount Txindoki in Abaltzisketa has charged five euros for overnight parking between 22:00 and 6:00. The measure applies to all vehicles, not only motorhomes. Payment permits the use of awnings, tables and chairs; non-payment is a serious infraction and can result in a 100-euro fine. The lower car park offers waste water disposal, clean water and electricity, while showers in public toilets operate with two-euro tokens. Revenue covers maintenance of recreation areas, toilets and lighting.
