The city council of San Vicente de la Barquera has banned parking for motorhomes and large vehicles at several locations, including Tostadero beach, the breakwater, the area around Santa María de los Ángeles church, and near the sports center. New signs prohibit parking for vehicles over 1,600 kg, effectively limiting motorhomes, camper vans, and other bulky vehicles. The measure addresses issues observed in recent summers: sidewalk occupation, road encroachment, and pedestrian traffic difficulties. As an alternative, the municipality has opened a new 82-space parking lot on national road N-634, connected to the town center by a bike lane and pedestrian access.
