Spain's DGT has issued instruction PROT 2026/04, requiring camper vans classified as category N (commercial vans) over ten years old to pass the MOT every six months. This applies to most DIY conversions. The fine for driving without a valid MOT is 200 euros. From December 31, 2026, the MOT certificate will be digital, and cameras will automatically detect expired inspections.
