Spain's General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) has updated regulations for motorhomes and campers. Under the new rules, motorhomes (category M) are exempt from ITV for the first 4 years, then must pass every two years until 10 years old, and annually thereafter. Campers (category N, based on vans) require annual ITV until 10 years old, then every six months.

Municipalities can now limit parking time and ban overnight stays in urban areas except in designated zones. A new road sign, S-128, has been introduced to indicate wastewater dumping points.

According to sources, the number of registered motorhomes in Spain rose from 48,000 in 2015 to nearly 137,000.
