South Cambridgeshire District Council has obtained a year-long extension from the High Court to an injunction under Section 187B of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 against unauthorised development on land west of Moor Drove, Histon. The interim injunction was initially granted on 24 May after reports of unauthorised activity. At the time of service, five caravans were on site; there are now 17. Council in legal battle over building on unauthorised caravan site

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead council is engaged in a legal battle to halt further development of an unauthorised caravan site on greenbelt land in Fifield. The High Court granted an interim injunction in January after four mobile homes, three motorhomes, and a touring caravan were brought onto the site despite a stop notice. The judge deferred a final injunction ruling, stating the council must reassess its position in light of new information regarding the personal circumstances of the occupants, including six children.

Scotland fan travels in 1977 motorhome with football graphics

John McIntosh from Falkirk bought a 1977 Airstream Argosy motorhome decorated with images of Scottish footballers, including Archie Gemmill, Graeme Souness, and Scott McTominay. Instead of traveling to the World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, he decided to tour Scotland to meet former colleagues and fans. McIntosh cited a lack of understanding of soccer in the US as the reason for not attending the tournament.

Traveller camp on former car boot site doubles in size

A traveller encampment on the former Ketch Car Boot site in Worcester has doubled in size after additional caravans arrived on June 8. The site now holds around 12 caravans and 14 vehicles, including trucks and cars. Residents have reported noise from generators and quad bikes. Police have visited and found no apparent issues, but the land is privately owned, leaving eviction to the landowner.

Welsh campsite goes adults-only over baby tourism tax dispute

Dan Yr Ogof Caravan site in the Brecon Beacons National Park will become adults-only (16+) from September 14. The decision follows wardens' refusal to collect a proposed visitor levy for babies and young children. Welsh Government legislation allows a £1.30 per night charge on all guests, including infants, which the site estimates could add £54.60 per week for a family with three children. The final decision on implementing the tax rests with local authorities, and Powys County Council has not yet decided.
