Authorities in Seongsan-gu, Changwon (South Korea) have begun creating a dedicated parking lot for RVs and caravans. On April 29, 2026, they inspected potential sites, including the area near Machhan Bridge and Samgwi coast. Earlier, on February 23, they had already checked vacant public land. The goal is to solve the problem of long-term RV parking, which causes inconvenience for residents and safety risks.
According to sources, at the free public parking lot near Central Sports Park in Changwon, campers and caravans occupy spaces for extended periods, leading to a shortage of parking spots. Under a parking law that took effect in July 2024, authorities can issue orders to move and tow vehicles that remain on public lots for too long.
Plans call for selecting the optimal site by the end of April 2026, with construction starting in the second half of 2026. The dedicated zone is expected to reduce conflicts between residents and tourists.
